Flipsaw Prototype

Initial prototype of the Flipsaw puzzle project.

Play jigsaw puzzles in a whole new way

  • The objective is to solve the puzzle by connecting the jigsaw pieces, but beware! Each piece has multiple configurations, and only one is correct. You will need to use context clues as well as trial and error to determine the correct configuration and decipher the solution.
  • Along the way, you will unlock lucky (or unlucky!) coins that can be used to add new rules and strategic challenges. Flip a coin to add new hints, shortcuts, and clues that will help you complete the puzzle.
  • Flipping a coin has its risks. It can make the puzzle easier to solve or it will add new obstacles that will make the experience more challenging.
  • As you complete puzzles with different coin effects, both "good" and "bad", you will unlock other effects that will continue to transform the way you play the game. Flip at your own risk!

This demo includes:

  • 10 playable puzzles
  • 12 unlockable coins
  • Fun

If you see this error message

Don't fret, we promise it's not a virus or malware. You can safely select More Info and select Run Anyway. This is because the project executable isn't signed. Once we pay the signing cert gods, no more suspect windows will pop up. Until then, either go through this rigmarole or just play the browser version, which happens to be conveniently located just above this message.

This is fun! It's a real brain stumper to have different configurations of pieces, and the coin mechanic is interesting. The main menu is a lil too confusing (shout out joko2g for explaining how to play), but this has so much potential

Gotchu. We plan to add more visual cues in the menu and also make it so that the tutorial runs before reaching the menu if it's the first time the user has played!

Would this be possible to modify for mobile? I got pretty far in with touch interfaces in desktop mode, just can't rotate pieces!

Mobile is a future goal! We just wanna get PC out first bc tbh mobile controls for this are a challenge!

I can open & run the software but I can't seem to play with any puzzles? I see the donuts on a list but clicking with my mouse/hitting every key I can think of does nothing.

I will check on that today and see whats up, in the meantime are you able to play the browser version?

that is the version I am trying

Well shit im gonna check that out for ya

Btw which browser?

I was stumped for a moment, too. You can't access puzzles from the Puzzle Collection screen. Instead, look to the bookshelf. The top-left rectangle, with a little shape on it, is the first puzzle. Completing it unlocks the next.
